'Visa to heaven' pastor in Ekiti arrested over holding minors, others hostage

The Ekiti State Police Command, in collaboration with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), has apprehended Pastor Noah Abraham on charges of kidnapping minors and other individuals.

The arrest followed protests by some members of his church at the police command. They accused him of abducting minors and impregnating the wife of his choir coordinator.

Pastor Abraham, the founder of Christ High Commission Church in Omuo-Oke-Ekiti, Araromi-Ugbesia, had previously been arrested for allegedly collecting N310,000 from church members under the guise of providing visas to heaven.

Reports indicate that he held children hostage, allegedly using hypnosis and manipulation to turn them against their parents.

During their narration of the ordeal at the command's headquarters, church members, including the pastor's wife, pleaded for government and other authorities' intervention to rescue their children, wives, and relatives from the pastor's control.

A protester stated, "The pastor forced some of our children to quit school, and a 27-year-old man, previously employed with an official car, was instructed to resign and kept in the camp without a clear purpose."

Mr. Dare Ikuenayo, the choir coordinator, confirmed that the pastor had taken his wife and impregnated her, despite her having three children with him.

When approached for comment, Pastor Abraham mentioned that the "heaven mission ticket saga" was his initial assignment and claimed to have completed what he was sent by God to do, expressing readiness to return to his creator.

DSP Sunday Abutu, the command's spokesman, stated that investigations into the matter were ongoing.
